In June 1999, Jovon answered the call to serve his country, joining the ranks of the United States Navy. For an incredible span of 22 years, he demonstrated unparalleled dedication and honor in his active duty service. His remarkable perseverance and aptitude shone through as he graduated with honors in his BUDs Navy SEAL training class, becoming the first African American man to achieve this prestigious milestone.

Not content with resting on his laurels, Jovon's pursuit of excellence extended beyond his military career. He earned a bachelor's degree in Organizational.

Jovon is now a retired Navy SEAL whose life and journey serve as an inspiring testament to resilience, determination, and triumph over adversity. Born and raised between Washington DC and North Carolina, Jovon overcame significant challenges in his upbringing to emerge as a symbol of unwavering strength and achievement.

Raised by his grandparents due to his mother's struggles with substance abuse and without knowing his father, Jovon witnessed firsthand the harsh realities of violence in the NE side of DC during his formative years. However, driven by an innate hunger for more in life, he relocated with his grandmother to North Carolina to get away from the city life and discovered a passion for athletics that would lay the foundation for his future success. Poor, desperate and even became a teenage parent I was up against a cycle in history where becoming a statistic was easier than creating a life of abundance I still pushed forward. Determined to create a different life for his children.
